Every boyfriend has experienced this.

Are you sitting at your desk properly?

One way to check your posture is to use a mirror to see how you are sitting or ask someone to hold it up for you.

Look for signs of a poor posture-:

sore neck or back
trouble concentrating
headaches

It is very important to have an adjustable chair to match your work area.
If you are at a desk for more than a few hours a day investing in a quality chair is very important.

Being aware of your posture via your physio or pilates instructor or yoga teacher is also a benefit.

Building a strong core and correct breathing techniquesare very important.

Tips for the best sitting position-:
  1. Adjust the height of the chair according to the height of the work area
  2. Ensure your shoulders are relaxed and without strain. (shoulders back ribs in)
  3. Feet must be flat on the floor
  4. Ensure the limbar support of the chair supports the natural curve of your spine
  5. Adjus the computer screen to the top is level with your eyes
  6. Keep your chin in and shoulders relaxed
  7. Keyboard should be placed for a natural support from the chair arm rests or table if no arm rests
  8. wrists should be straight when typing
  9. Take regular intervals (5 minutes every hour) and perform stretch and relax exercises

Video that will change your life. I have no words left.

5-year-old chinese boy becomes the world’s youngest pilot !

A five-year-old Chinese boy has become the youngest person ever to fly a light airplane single-handed, covering a distance of 30 km, it has been claimed. The boy nicknamed Duoduo, flew a total 47 minutes in two flights around the Beijing Wildlife Zoo in Gu’an county, Hebei province, on Saturday afternoon, according to his father, He Liesheng.

The feat followed Duoduo’s 20 days of flight lessons at a private club. According to The Global Times, Zhang Yonghui, the person in charge of the club said the distance of the flight was 30 km.

“I am preparing video clips for Guinness World Records and the World Record Association to get certification for my son as the youngest pilot in the world,” said He, from Jiangsu province. “Duoduo is very excited about his brave act and is in high spirits,” He said.

The father made headlines last year after Chinese media reported that he had forced the young child to run naked in the snow. In the recent feat, Duoduo, dressed in professional flight gear, flew as high as 100 metres in the air twice on Saturday, ‘China Daily’ reported. The small plane, which has two seats and weighs about 100 kg, took off from a runway in the middle of a field.

A trainer was seated behind the boy in the plane, giving only directions to the boy.The trainer, however, stretched out his arms during the flight to suggest the boy was controlling the aircraft on his own. He said Duoduo likes car and airplane models, and the idea of having him pilot a plane striked him last year. However, the news has generated mixed public reactions.

Does Plants Feel Pain When You Cut Them Or Do They Have Any Feelings?

Plants do not have a central nervous system/brain/heart, so that can not feel pain. However, they show the effects of pain by displaying obvious signs that something is not right they are the following:

  • Wilting or limp for a prolong period of time especially after being watered
  • Dark colored fluid especially at wound sites, this indicates the plant is in stress
  • Conks around the plant may indicate decay
  • thinning canopy
  • Branch and limb droppage
  • Die-back in large patches, the tree is in decline
  • Less production of fruit especially on older trees a sign of a stressful condition
Plants do have their own way to be unhappy or showing stress signs, you can judge the plants pain if they are treated well with correct type of soil, right spot, on time water. If they are looking good without any of the above signs then they are happy.

So What happens When You Cut Them?

Plants use fragrances to signal, so when you cut them you can smell a thing out of it.  So, when you cut even a single leave, they short some amount of energy. since leaves collect carbon dioxide with sunlight energy and a small amount of H20 to form the photosynthetic process of plant. by means of photosynthetic process plants makes food or energy in order to grow faster. Some plants also have what is called ‘totipotency’ meaning that only plants of that type can grow around it.

Why to even think on, if plants feel pain or not. Let’s save trees and save the world for better tomorrow.

8 things you can learn free online

The internet has revolutionised so many aspects of our lives. A new language, coding, designing, art, cooking — things you would normally expect to pay for – are all available online for free.

Photography

To get started with the basics of photography, you should visit photographycourse.net. This is a site without any distracting ads and with content neatly laid out by skill level.

At photo.net/learn, you’ll find a handy collection of (regularly updated) articles and tutorials from photo professionals. And when you need to brush up on your photography jargon, the ever-popular DP Review has a comprehensive listing at www. dpreview.com/glossary.

On the app side, Photography Tutorials (by Anton Gregory) is a great free app for Android devices. This app curates and organizes a large list of photography tutorials from around the web — practically any beginner or advanced technique that you need to know about is here.

Computer programming

For javascript, jquery, PHP, Python and Ruby, head to www.codeacademy.com. The interactive website offers step-by-step instructions to familiarize you with the language, shortcuts and other instructions.

You don’t even need to sign-up, but do so if you want to keep track of your course and resume from where you left off. A free iPad app called Treehouse can teach you Objective-C, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, and SQL. There is also a dedicated section for iOS and Android app development if you are interested in it.

You get access to various tutorial videos for learning, which are constantly updated with new updates. As you move ahead in the course, you have to take a regular quiz and complete interactive challenges.

A new language

Depending on what you currently speak, some languages are easier to learn than others. For instance, if you know English well, it’ll be easier for you to pick up Spanish rather than Russian.

The courses hosted on www.openculture.com are a pretty good place to start. Duolingo is another great place to learn Spanish, English, French, German, Portugese or Italian. Duolingo ‘gamifies’ the process with rewards. They also have free apps for iOS and Android.

Other popular services include Live Mocha and Lang-8. While you learn, you also act as an editor for someone learning your native language — this keeps everything free.

Cooking

Cooking is a fine art — any seasoned chef or homemaker will tell you that cooking is not just about combining ingredients — it’s also about applying hundreds of little tricks and techniques that usually take years to master.

Luckily, you can find a lot of tips on basic cooking techniques at simplyrecipes.com (they also offer free apps). Over at reluctantgourmet.com, the ‘How to cook’ tab will help you brush up on roasting, poaching, grilling, frying, braising, baking and everything in between.

A handy cooking converter at the bottom of every page can help you convert quantities: tablespoons to teaspoons, litres to pints and so on. For apps, two of our favourites are All Recipes and Epicurious (free, for all platforms). They’re easy to use, attractive and customised for each platform.

Artistic skills

It’s possible to learn art at any stage as long as you have the motivation. To learn the basics (colours, drawing techniques, perspective and so on), head to artyfactory.com.

Meanwhile, at thevirtualinstructor.com you can find a list of art lessons, tutorials, articles and videos curated from around the web. When you want to do more, head to instructables.com — where you can learn how to do stuff as diverse as watermelon carving, making jewellery, puppets, and costumes.

You’re also welcome to share your ideas with the community. On the apps side, How to Draw by ArtelPlus (for iOS and Android) is a good place to start. There’s also a huge range of apps available in the ‘How to Draw’ series — each app teaches something specific.

Self defence

You won’t be able to learn advanced self defence techniques or master a competition, but you can easily pick up and practice basic martial arts and self defence with some online help.

Lifehacker has a great, one-page guide to basic self defence that can get you out of a sticky situation. This includes tips on vulnerable parts of the body, how to attack, leveraging your weight, basic kicks/punches and how to administer/get out of basic holds. You can find the guide here — goo.gl/gsFUBn. For apps, you can try the Self Defense Trainer by Bizapp Media.

Dancing

Unlike most others on this page, dancing needs you to ‘do’ more than read or look up. That’s why tutorial videos on various dance forms on YouTube are the first place you should look.

Next, head to dancetothis.com and you can start learning different dance moves and styles (hip hop, pop, street, break dance, krumping, ballroom and so on). Beyond that, practice is what you need.

Free courses from top universities

Prominent names like MIT ( Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Harvard, Berkeley, University of Texas and University of Toronto offer free online courses that anyone can access.

You can either visit the individual websites of these institutions or head to edx.org. Edx accumulates all free courses offered by institutions across the world across subjects.

Choose a subject of your choice, select the institution you want to learn from and join a course. There is no prerequisite knowledge required for most courses and you get access to various videos, transcripts and notes. You can even earn yourself a certificate of course completion from Edx if you do all the homework and pass the exam for a particular course.

3 Things a Child Learns While in the Womb

Scientists have found out that humans learn certain things even before they’re born, and we at Bright Side can’t wait to tell you which ones.

1. Experiencing tastes

Professor Peter Hepper from Queen’s University in Belfast wondered whether you can like food even before birth. He conducted a study where soon-to-be-mothers either ate or cut out garlic. The results were quite interesting, as children born of mothers from the former group enjoyed meals with garlic even at the age of 8-9 years.

The same went for carrot juice: 5- and 6-month-old babies whose pregnant mothers drank it liked it very much. Hepper says it’s probably how children recognize their parents: they experience the same taste as in the womb.

2. Hearing sounds

A group of scientists from Finland did an experiment where two groups of pregnant women either listened to lullabies daily or not at all. The result was that babies from the first group reacted to the songs while the other group of babies was indifferent. The researchers came to the conclusion that the former must have learned the lullabies while inside the womb.

3. Recognizing speech

Athena Vouloumanos, a psychologist from New York University, compared newborn babies’ reactions to human speech and sounds and found that babies react to speech. They’re even keener when they hear their mother tongue.

The research helped prove an important concept: good acoustic surroundings are a must for unborn babies and children born prematurely as they might have speech disorders if they don’t hear enough human speech.

The Five Lessons of Life – Funny and Worth Reading

Lesson 1:
A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, “I’ll give each of you just one wish” “Me first! Me first!” says the administration clerk. “I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.” Poof! She’s gone. “Me next! Me next!” says the sales rep. “I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.” Poof! He’s gone. “OK, you’re up,” the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, “I want those two back in the office after lunch.”
Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 2:
A priest offered a lift to a Nun. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said,”Father, remember Psalm 129?” The priest removed his hand. But,changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, “Father, remember Psalm 129?” The priest apologized “Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.” Arriving at the convent, the nun went on her way. On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, “Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.”
Moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.

Lesson 3:
A crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day. A rabbit asked him,”Can I also sit like you and do nothing all day long?” The crow answered: “Sure, why not.” So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow, and rested.
…A fox jumped on the rabbit and ate it.
Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very high up.

Lesson 4: Power of Charisma
A turkey was chatting with a bull “I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree,” sighed the turkey, but I haven’t got the energy.” “Well, why don’t you nibble on my droppings?” replied the bull. “They’re packed with nutrients.” The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.
Moral of the story: Bullshit might get you to the top, but it wont keep you there.

Lesson 5:
A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Moral of the story:
1. Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy
2. Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend
3. And when you’re in deep shit, it’s best to keep your mouth shut !

Penguin poop can be seen from space

You’re probably wondering what’s so special about penguin poop, but there are actually several factors that allow us to see their feces from space! The first is the location. Because they live in extremely cold temperatures covered almost entirely by snow, the dark color of their poop is extremely visible. With a mix of background coloring, the poop shows right up on satellite images! Another reason we can see their poop is because of just how impressive these creatures are at clearing their bowels.

Penguins can poop at four times the pressure humans can. This means that they are able to discharge their bowls up to nearly forty centimeters! You may be asking, “Why exactly does penguin poop really matter?” but in fact, this discovery is vastly important to those who study penguins. Humans have trouble examining penguins in their natural habitat because they live on frozen salt water and it always has the possibility to break. Because of this we have struggled to gather a true grasp on what exactly these animals do, such as migration preferences.

Now that we are able to track their poop from space, scientists believe we are one step closer to better comprehending these fascinating creatures, all without humans coming even remotely close to them!

Dolphins Help Save Dog from Drowning!

On Marco Island, Florida a group of dolphins came to the aid of a lost Doberman that had fallen into a canal and couldn’t get out. The dolphins made so much noise, it attracted the attention of people living nearby, who then rescued the dog. The Doberman was believed to have spent 15 hours in the canal water before he was pulled out by fire personnel and reunited with his owner.

One of the people whose attention was captured by the noisy, demonstrative dolphins said, “They were really putting up a ruckus, almost beaching themselves on the sandbar over there. If it wasn’t for the dolphin, I would have never seen the dog.” (Source: ABC7news) He said also if the dolphins hadn’t persisted enough to get their attention, they dog would have died in the canal. The dog had fallen over the edge of a concrete wall down into the water far enough that it had no chance of getting back up by itself. The dog was exhausted from being in the cold water for hours, and most likely suffering from hypothermia.

Dolphins have been known to sometimes help stranded or injured people as well. In 2007, a pod of dolphins formed a ring around a surfer who was injured and bleeding after being bitten by a Great White shark. The surfer survived because they prevented further bites. No one knows exactly why dolphins have intervened in such emergency situations, and helped save the lives of other species. Suffice to say they are capable of empathy and heroic actions.

15 Interesting Facts about Dreams

Dreaming is one of the most mysterious and interesting experiences in our lives.

During the Roman Era some dreams were even submitted to the Roman Senate for analysis and dream interpretation. They were thought to be messages from the gods. Dream interpreters even accompanied military leaders into battles and campaigns!

In addition to this, it is also known that many artists have received their creative ideas from their dreams.

But what do we actually know about dreams?

Here are 15 interesting facts about dreams – enjoy and what’s most important, don’t forget to share your dream stories in the comment section!

1. You Forget 90% of Your Dreams

Within 5 minutes of waking half of your dream is forgotten. Within 10, 90% is gone.

2. Blind People also Dream

People who became blind after birth can see images in their dreams. People who are born blind do not see any images, but have dreams equally vivid involving their other senses of sound, smell, touch and emotion.

3. Everybody Dreams

Every human being dreams (except in cases of extreme psychological disorder). If you think you are not dreaming – you just forget your dreams.

4. In Our Dreams We Only See Faces That We already Know

Our mind is not inventing faces – in our dreams we see real faces of real people that we have seen during our life but may not know or remember. We have all seen hundreds of thousands of faces throughout our lives, so we have an endless supply of characters for our brain to utilize during our dreams.

5. Not Everybody Dreams in Color

A full 12% of sighted people dream exclusively in black and white. The remaining number dream in full color. Studies from 1915 through to the 1950s maintained that the majority of dreams were in black and white, but these results began to change in the 1960s. Today only 4.4% of the dreams of under-25 year-olds are in black and white. Recent research has suggested that those changing results may be linked to the switch from black-and-white film and TV to color media.

6. Dreams are Symbolic

If you dream about some particular subject it is not often that the dream is about that. Dreams speak in a deeply symbolic language. Whatever symbol your dream picks on it is most unlikely to be a symbol for itself.

(bamboo for h.koppdelaney)
7. Emotions

The most common emotion experienced in dreams is anxiety. Negative emotions are more common than positive ones.

8. You can have four to seven dreams in one night.

On average you can dream anywhere from one or two hours every night.

9. Animals Dream Too

Studies have been done on many different animals, and they all show the same brain waves during dreaming sleep as humans. Watch a dog sleeping sometime. The paws move like they are running and they make yipping sounds as if they are chasing something in a dream.

10. Body Paralysis

Rapid eye movement (REM) sleep is a normal stage of sleep characterized by rapid movements of the eyes. REM sleep in adult humans typically occupies 20-25% of total sleep, about 90-120 minutes of a night’s sleep.

During REM sleep the body is paralyzed by a mechanism in the brain in order to prevent the movements which occur in the dream from causing the physical body to move. However, it is possible for this mechanism to be triggered before, during, or after normal sleep while the brain awakens.

11. Dream Incorporation

Our mind interprets the external stimuli that our senses are bombarded with when we are asleep and make them a part of our dreams. This means that sometimes in our dreams we hear a sound from reality and incorporate it in a way. For example you may be dreaming that you are in a concert while your brother is playing a guitar during your sleep.

12. Men and Women Dream Differently

Men tend to dream more about other men. Around 70% of the characters in a man’s dream are other men. On the other hand, a woman’s dream contains almost an equal number of men and women. Aside from that, men generally have more aggressive emotions in their dreams than the female lot.

13. Precognitive Dreams

Results of several surveys across large population sets indicate that between 18% and 38% of people have experienced at least one precognitive dream and 70% have experienced déjà  vu. The percentage of persons that believe precognitive dreaming is possible is even higher – ranging from 63% to 98%.

*Precognition, also called future sight, refers to perception that involves the acquisition of future information that cannot be deduced from presently available and normally acquired sense-based information.
14. If you are snoring, then you cannot be dreaming.

This fact is repeated all over the Internet, but I’m a bit suspicious whether it’s really true as I haven’t found any scientific evidence to support it.

15.You can experience an o r g asm in your dream

You can not only have s e x as pleasurable as in your real life while dreaming, but also experience an  o r g a s m  as strong as a real one without any wet results. The sensations felt while lucid dreaming (touch, pleasure and etc..) can be as pleasurable and strong (or I believe even stronger) as the sensations experienced in the real world.

Incredible picture captures a accurate second lightning struck an erupting volcano

A striking engineer camped out in freezing cold conditions to snap a shot of an erupting volcano – usually for a volcanic lightning bolt to strike the lava emanate and make the image even better.

Hernando Rivera braved the weather while sat conflicting the famous Volcán de Colima in central Mexico.

The photographer took adult the perfect vantage indicate 12km from the centuries-old volcano, that is currently active and surrounded by an 8km exclusion zone.

His overwhelming array of pictures, taken last week show white-hot lava rising from the crater 12,500ft above sea level, with the lightning shaft rising from clouds of black smoke.

Hernando, 34, said: ‘When the volcano erupts, it sounds like a big bomb. It can be dangerous being so close, though especially we are excited rather than scared.

‘In these pictures, Volcán de Colima is erupting with white lava bombs, while at the same time it is being hit by some lightning.

‘I was alone at night when we took them. we like to go alone. Sometimes we get as close as 7km or 5km, but on this occasion I was 12km away.

‘When I take the pictures, my reaction is one of complacency and smiles, because they look spectacular.

‘The lightning is caused by friction within particles. They are too prohibited and crash, formulating static, and this kind of materialisation leads to lightning.

‘Of course it is tough to constraint such an image, because we need to wait many hours and stay watching and ready all the time.

‘With low temperatures between 0 and 10 degrees, in the dark, it can be difficult on the hills.’

Hernando, who lives with his parent Sophey and their dual French bulldogs, is creatively from Mexico City, but now lives in Colima.

Volcán de Colima, which straddles the states of Colima and Jalisco, forms part of the Eje Volcánico Transversal towering range, and is one of a many active volcanoes in Mexico.

It first erupted in 1576 and is flanked by another volcano, Nevado de Colima, and the eroded El Cantaro, now extinct.

Volcanic lightning is caused when electrical charge is generated by colliding rock, ash or ice. It doesn’t strike from the sky, it comes instead from the black clouds or ash plumes that form when a volcano erupts.

The weather phenomenon is often referred to as a ‘dirty thunderstorm’.

Hernando said: ‘I’m a graphic designer and photographer for supervision in Colima, but we do a lot of freelance photography as well.

‘This is a particularly large eruption. It got intense. It happened during around 10pm. We like how starry the sky is. What more can we ask for?

‘I have to be attentive when I’m there. I take a few photos and go behind to waiting. There are some photographers who take thousands of cinema looking for ‘the one’. But we prefer to hunt them down.’

10 Habits That Can Damage Your Brain (Must Read and Share)

1. No Breakfast : People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.

2. Overeating : It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.

3. Smoking: It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption: Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

5. Air Pollution: The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.

6. Sleep Deprivation:  Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.

7. Head covered while sleeping:  Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness:  Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts: Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.

10. Talking Rarely: Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain.
